DIY HANGING MAISON JARS TO ADD A LITTLE SPARKLE TO YOUR GARDEN…

So I saw a lot of this working in the wedding business: beautiful dinner receptions in the courtyard lit up by twinkly lights in the trees, or overhead garlands and lanterns. There really is nothing prettier than when dusk falls and the trees come to life, so why not, I thought, recreate this look everyday in your back garden!

They are so easy to make, just buy some little glass mason jars from your local craft store, or glass baubles on Amazon, and put a little battery tealight inside. You are better buying the LED ones which light up automatically when it gets dark, rather than having to switch them all on manually every night!

Then attach some brown parcel string and hang them from the branches of trees and in little nooks around your garden. You could even copy the ones in the picture with some fake plastic flowers and tie some pretty pink ribbon around the rim of the jar to make them look even more delicate.

I am definitely going to try this in my garden when I get home. I think they look so romantic and remind me of a Midsummer Night’s Dream.. Have a go and tell me what you think!
